But Do You Actually Know Where Your Jokers Go?
Most players look at a line like FF 2222 44 66 8888 and assume Jokers can fill any gap. They can't.

Place a Joker in those Pairs of 4s, and your hand is dead — instantly, irreversibly, with no way back. You sit out the rest of the game watching everyone else play.
That's the challenge with reading the NMJL card on its own: it tells you what to build, but not how to build it safely. One misread, one wrong assumption about Joker placement, and the hand is over.
The 2026/2027 Cheat Sheet changes that.
This isn't assembled from rulebooks or generated by software. Why does that matter? Because one misplaced Joker indicator, or one incorrectly labelled concealed line, kills your hand mid-game. Our coaches caught the edge cases that trip up even experienced players: Soap acting as a zero but not a Dragon, Kongs that allow Jokers while Pairs don't, "Any 2 Suits" lines with exceptions most players never notice.
What does it add to your game?
When a line says "Any 2 Suits," we show you exactly which suit combinations work and which ones don't.
When the Soap functions as a zero instead of a Dragon, we separate it visually so you never confuse it with a matching Dragon set.
When a section is concealed, we mark it clearly, so you never call a discard on a hand that requires you to build from the wall.
Our signature Yellow Box system highlights every spot where Jokers are forbidden. No guessing, no memorising exceptions. You look at the Cheat Sheet, you see the yellow box, you know: no Joker here.
Jokers can be placed anywhere on this line. You must build with 1 or 2 suits.
No Jokers can be used in the Pairs. Jokers can be placed anywhere in the Kongs.
You must build EE WW and the Pairs with no Jokers. Jokers can be placed in the Pung and Kong.
The Soap functions as a zero here, not as a Dragon. Kongs must be matching even numbers. Singles and Pairs never take a Joker — only groups of three or more.
You're playing a 2468 line. You have a pair of 6s and two Jokers.
Instinct says: use a Joker to fill one of the Pairs. But you can't. Jokers are strictly forbidden in Pairs — only allowed in groups of three or more.

Are the Cheat Sheets official NMJL cards?
No. They are independent companion guides created to explain and illustrate the official card. They are designed to sit beside it, not to replace it.
Do I still need to buy the official NMJL card?
Yes. The official card is published each year by the National Mah Jongg League and must be bought from them. Our Cheat Sheet decodes it — it does not reproduce it.
Which product should I start with?
If you are new or want everything in one purchase, start with the Mastery Bundle — it contains the trilogy, the Masterclass and both Cheat Sheets.

Do I need to be a beginner to use this?
No. The trilogy runs from the very first rules through to tournament tactics, so there is material whether you have never played a hand or you have played for twenty years and want to stop plateauing.
I already own one of your guides. Will a bundle duplicate it?
Possibly — each bundle lists exactly what is inside on its own page, so check before you buy. If you do end up with a duplicate, contact us and we will refund the overlap.

Do you ship anything physical?
No. Everything we sell is digital. That is why it reaches you in a minute rather than a week — and why there are no shipping costs.
What currency am I charged in?
Prices are shown and charged in US dollars. If your card is in another currency, your bank converts at their rate.
Can I buy this as a gift?
Yes. Complete the purchase and forward the confirmation email to the recipient — the download link works for whoever holds it.
Can I get a refund?
Because these are digital files delivered instantly, purchases are non-refundable and orders cannot be cancelled once the link has been issued.
That said, this policy is not a way to avoid problems. If a link fails, a file will not open, you were charged twice, or you received the wrong product, contact us — we will replace the files or refund you.
Can I print the guides?
All of them. Every file is built for a home printer on standard paper, with type sized to stay readable when printed. Many customers print the Cheat Sheet and keep it beside the card.
Will they work on my phone or tablet?
Yes. The files are standard PDFs, so they open on any phone, tablet, laptop or e-reader without a special app.
I only play Mah Jongg online. Is this still for me?
Absolutely. Whether you play on ilovemahj.com, Real Mah Jongg or any other platform, the game is the same: same NMJL card, same rules, same decisions.
Reading the card, choosing a hand, judging a discard and knowing where a Joker is legal apply identically online and at a physical table.
Do I need a physical tile set?
No. A printable tile set is included in several of our bundles, and everything works alongside any online platform.
Are updates included?
Yes, within the year you bought. If we correct or improve a guide you own, the updated file appears at your existing download link at no cost.
The Mastery Bundle and Date Night Bundle also include next year's Cheat Sheet free when the new card is released.
Can I use the Teaching Edition for paid classes?
Yes. You may teach paid classes, workshops and club sessions with it, and print the student handouts for your own students. You may not resell or redistribute the files themselves.
